Venetian plain extend before us; at our backs are the foothills to
the Alps. These images reveal the importance of the hills between
Marostica,Bassano and Asolo:a border land. It is here that two
natural kingdoms join and even overlap. Up from the south come the
last outposts of organisms that love the warm, dry climates; down
from the north come those that need cold, wettish ones. The olive
tree dwells mainly on the sunny slopes, in the company of various
shrubs and wild herbs and grasses which share the same need for dry
terrain, good light and great deal of sun.A rich and varied mosaic:
this is the identity of the natural environment of these hills. There
is no boundless scenery, just the harmonious union of the diverse
parts creating a fine and pleasant landscape, separated only from
the Brenta river flowing in the lowland. In this idyllic place
people live surrounded surrounded by archaeological beauties, among
tradition, memory of the past, arts and modernity.
